PS3 Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA IV) freezing FIXED!

As you guys may know, I have been having real issues with Rockstar support and GTA freezing on the frist screen.  Well, this has been resolved thanks to a couple of posts that I was reading on Metal Gear Solid 4 when I couldn’t push start in the very beginning spash screen.  The game couldn’t install and my controller wasn’t working.  So, after a little bit of research, I found that in order to get my game to work, I had to ENSURE that my controller was on 1.  I unplugged Rock Band and all of my other hardware peripherals and synced my controller so that it registered as the first controller and amazingly, all of my games worked again.

Why Rockstar couldn’t help me troubleshoot this is beyond me.  They haven’t even responded back to my questions yet which is even a greater disappointment.  Their support was just dismal!
